Comunicar Journal meets criteria and quality indicators in its editorial process, which are: Impact and prestige, visibility and access, punctuality and seriousness, rigor and process, ethics and commitment, editorial management, scientific community, emerging technologies, originality and progress, the author as maximum.

IMPACT AND PRESTIGE: Comunicar Journal is one of the world’s foremost international education and communication journals, positioned in the first quartile among the most recognised journals for its impact and prestige: Q1 in Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in Communication and Education; Q1 in SCOPUS (SJR) in Cultural Studies, Education and Communication and Q1 in SCOPUS (CiteScore) in Cultural Studies, Education and Communication. The journal has an excellence recognition 2020, from FECYT; Indexed in ERIH+. Comunicar is in the 2nd position in Google Scholar Metrics as the best Spanish journal in all areas. The journal is indexed in 809 international data bases: 108 international data bases, 14 evaluation platforms for journals, 7 selective directories, 13 other bibliographical databases, 14 selective libraries, 22 specialized sites, 28 searchers of open access scientific literature, 23 library catalogues and 555 university library catalogues all over the world.

VISIBILITY AND ACCESS: Comunicar is committed to open access and shared knowledge, providing all published manuscripts, 1960, available in the website in double version (Spanish and English). Besides, because of its international purpose, the website offers the information in four languages: Spanish, English, Portuguese and Chinese. The international visibility od Comunicar is generated through different platforms of access offering (ePub, pdf, html, xml), different academic social networks (AcademiaEdu, ResearchGate) and social media (Facebook, Twitter), video and image channels (Flickr, Baidu, YouTube, Weibo), author identifiers (ORCID, ResearcherID, Scopus), and also reference managers such as Mendeley, RefWoks y EndNote.

PUNCTUALITY AND FORMALITY: The periodicity in Comunicar, 3 issues per year, guarantees an efficient fluency of manuscripts. Rigorously explained in guidelines, authors could punctually follow the editorial process: a) Initial editors screening for suitability of the manuscripts (30 days maximum); b) Anonymized refereeing with rigorous peer review (90 days maximum); c) Preprint editing in Spanish and English languages; d) Online and press publishing. RIGOROUS PROCESS: A rigorous and transparent system is guaranteed by an anonymized refereeing with peer review through an International Reviewers Board (IRB) 1141 researchers highly qualified in education and communication fields, from fifty countries all over the world. All research articles in Comunicar Journal are undergone rigorously and accurately peer reviewed by at least five anonymous referees. This process is intended to exclude inbreeding practises, ensuring only original knowledge by spreading international relevance.

ETIHCS AND COMMITMENT: Journal Comunicar is committed with a code of ethics that guarantees rights and duties for all scientific community: authors, reviewers and editors. Our Code of Ethics is based on the International Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), ensuring guidance for authors about: originality of the manuscripts, access to the data, conflict of interests, error in published articles and responsibility. Advising reviewers that committed to honest and constructive contributions, timing respect, confidentiality and objectivity avoiding conflict of interests and disclosures. At last, editors assume the Journal ethics and comprise with honest and objective practices, ensuring the optimum choice of reviewers confidentiality, being absolutely accurate in meeting stipulated deadlines.

EDITORIAL MANAGEMENT: Comunicar guarantees high-quality editing process throughout the OJS 3 Platform. To the relevant and original manuscripts, our journal offers a meticulous editing process, which is supported by reviewers´ contributions, stylistic department in English and Spanish languages (with collaborators in Chester University, Manchester University, Hong Kong Baptiste University, Universidade de Brasilia…). The journal is undergone to a professional layout and a permanent updating in different online formats (ePub, issue, xml, preprint and print). The journal makes efforts to offer a rigorous and high-quality process, in such way authors could know what to expect from the editorial management. SCIENTIFIC COMMUNITY: Comunicar is integrated by an influential scientific community of authors (2160), reviewers (1141) and readers all over the world. A committed Editorial Board works intensively in the growth and the strengthening of the Journal. Composition: Editorial Board (Editor and Assistant Editors), Scientific Committee (from different countries and universities), International Reviewers Board, Advisory Board (high qualified academics from different fields), and, Technical Board, specialized in web design and e-learning. All researchers involved in Comunicar project seek to provide a scientific, stylistic, formal and ethic high-quality process.

EMERGENT TECHNOLOGIES: Both editorial process and diffusion for impact process are constantly adjusted to the advance of emergent technologies that implies flexible formats, accurate communication models with authors and modern editorial management platforms (OJS 3.0) demanded for a global and international spreading of the published articles. In this regard Comunicar is one of the leading journals with such a scientific community and a strategic plan of social networks to reach the maximum international impact of the published manuscripts.

ORIGINALITY AND PROGRESS: The originality of manuscripts in Comunicar is one of the priority scopes, in this sense all articles submitted and accepted for peer review are undergone to plagiarism control with specific professional programs for scientific journals (CrossCheck). It is expressed in the guidelines document of the journal that plagiarism or self-plagiarism means prescriptive rejection of the manuscript. Only original and high quality researches are published to preserve scientific progress and relevant data that will provide important contributions to the scientific community. In this regard, all published articles in Comunicar are expected to offer scientific improvements in the fields of education and communication.
