Describing television in terms of quality is difficult, even more when it comes to the Spanish television audience, which is divided into two main tendencies: on the one hand, there is a group demanding an educative, cultural and consequently quality TV and, on the other hand, there is a group labelling these products as boring. The large number of theories on quality TV agree that a combination of technical and communicative skills and a great diversity of topics, ideologies and genders are necessary. In this context Spanish TV is usually subjugated to audience ratings, although there are important exceptions such as «Los Lunnis», «Redes», etc.
