Media: symbols or devils?

Social communication media, especially audiovisual media, are the best example of the spectacular representation of the real world. This is the reason why they are an exceptionally good anaesthetic. They make democracy lose its significance since they use their mediatic power to create mediation, simulation, hedonism, narcisism... The author thinks that «diabolical» is a good word to sum up the essence of mediatic culture. Instead of it, she believes that media would be used as privileged spaces for dialogue.
